Are you interested in developing a writing practice with uninterrupted time to write? You may want to apply for the WRITEABILITY Fellowship by October 30, 2026.

WRITEABILITY will select five developing writers to take part in a year-long fellowship.

To be eligible, you must not have attended a writing residency. You cannot be a traditionally or indie published author. You must identify as African American/African/Black or Native American/Alaska Native.

WRITEABILITY fellows are required to attend the in-person residency in Gatlinburg, Tennessee in May, participate in one in-person and one online reading of their work, and attend four meetings a year.
